Ms. Cano attended Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. In 1975, Ms. Cano was awarded a Master of Science in Forensic Science from George Washington University. In preparation for work in the field of Forensic Chemistry and during the course of her work in a federal crime lab, Ms. Cano discovered that her true interest was in the field of law.
Ms. Cano graduated from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California in 1978. Ms. Cano attended Southwestern from 1976 to 1978 as part of its second graduating class of the then new and unique S.C.A.L.E. Program. S.C.A.L.E. is a rigorous two year program designed to present the legal education in both a more practical and more theoretical perspecitve than the traditional three year law school program. The success of the S.C.A.L.E. program can be measured by the fact that Southwestern has recently graduated many more than S.C.A.L.E. classes since Ms. Cano's.
Ms. Cano passed the California Bar in November, 1978 and began practicing in the area of business litigation.
In 1984, Ms. Cano was awarded a Masters of Laws in Securities Regulation by Georgetown University School of Law.
In 1984, Ms. Cano was associated with the law firm of Milberg, Weiss, Bershad, Specthrie & Lerach, a nationally prominent securities class action litigation firm. Ms. Cano is admitted to the State Bar of California, the Central District of California , the Southern District of California, the Northern District of California, the District of Ariziona, and the Federal Circuit, Ms. Cano is admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar and has actually practiced before the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Cano is a member of the Princeton Club of New York City and the Newport Beach Yacht Club.
